New Pics

I took these over the weekend. I especially like the first picture. By late afternoon, she was tired and started crying. Then she was ready to party with the vet students.
Cheese!

Daddy trying to cheer her up.

What kid hasn't smashed their face up on a screened door?
Her nose was black by the end of the night.

Blast from the Past

Today is the State FFA Livestock Judging Contest...and its happening in my yard! There are probably 200 students in the yard across the drivway judging rings of dairy cows. I have not seen this much camo or Fox gear since high school!

It's really bringing back some memories from high school and when I was in FFA. I fondly remember the countless road trips I made with Ann Ochs to and from Cisne and Flora for meetings and contests with the Section. And the times we went to State and National FFA Convention. High school would have been very different for me if it hadn't been for that girl. I made plenty of friends and had plenty of good times that I'll never forget.

"Geen"

We got August some tub crayons for her birthday. I knew I would regret it. It was soooo hard to clean! But she did have a blast. You can't really tell from these pictures but by the end the water was green and the tub wall at her feet was nearly completely covered.

Green is one of the colors that she knows. Except she leaves out the "r." The other color is pink.

Poker Face

August loves this song... thanks to our babysitter's daughter. I don't mind because I actually like the song and its really not dirty. August sings "can't read minds, can't read minds" and "p- p- p- poker face, p- p- poker face" parts. Just listen to the song. When you hear her sing it, it is just too funny!

She also makes up her own songs. She combines songs like Ring Around the Rosy and the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Song. Today she was singing when I picked her up from the sitters. It went something like, "Collin is sleepy, baby Collin is sleeping." (Collin is a six month old at her sitters.) I guess you sing about the things you know.

And lastly, August was riding her very small toy cow this evening and saying "yee-haw, yee-haw" while I was fixing supper. She really has a way of breaking any tense feeling I'm having and make me feel good. She said, "I love you, Mommy" tonight after supper. My heart was totally on the floor.

Awesome Night Out

Travis and I heard that Luke Bryan was going to be at a little bar that we like to go to sometimes. OMG! For those of you who don't know (...like everyone that I have told so far) Luke Bryan is an up and coming country singer...and he's not bad looking :) The show was great! There was a really good local band that opened for him. Too bad he didn't take the stage until after 11! We have the bodies of middle aged people and a sleep schedule that does not keep us up that late. We stayed long enough to see him perform three songs that he currently has out. http://www.lukebryan.com/ to see a better pictrure.

Baa-yoons!

I had to get some balloons for August's birthday party...and she had to carry them out of the store. I snapped these pictures Saturday when we were taking them into the house. The wind was blowing and August was going crazy with her baa-yoons. The first picture is my favorite!

Terrible 2's...Here We Come!

First of all, I can't believe I am about to say this. My baby is 2 years old! I can't believe it. It seems like yesterday... I could go on and on with things like: we brought her home, she took her first steps, etc. However, I'm still a little sappy, and probably will be every time she has another birthday. What a joy for a parent to be around for a little person's entire life. Emphasis on the "entire." She is so young and so grown up all at the same time. August was exhausted by the time everyone left. She did have a good time opening her presents and eating her cupcakes.

Does this look familiar? The first thing she opened was a pair of Nike Shocks from Donkey and Sheshell. (Just like my brother's, I'm told.) She HAD to put them on right then. She wore them all afternoon.

Donkey playing trains with August. She got so many great presents. She loves her new doll house and train set.

Birthday picture with Mommy and Daddy.

Savoring each bite of her chocolate cupcake. If you look very close, her eyes are even closed as she licks her fingers clean.

Today is my Grandma Jinny's birthday. Here, August is giving her a bunch of tulips. August refuses to call her Grandma Jinny. She just yells "Jinny!!!" when she sees her. August loves to play peek-a-boo with grandma. They say "pea-pie" to each other, instead of "peek-a-boo."
